Make you a celebrity overnight... (c) Twista

So, Justin Halpern was just like any of you other twitter addicts out there... Tweeting random nonsense about his life and so on...Well...except for the fact that joining twitter got him a book deal AND a tv show...

Not familiar with Mr. Halpern... We'll let wikipedia catch you up...

"Shit My Dad Says" is a Twitter feed started by Justin Halpern, a semi-employed comedy writer. It consists of quotes made by Halpern's father, Sam, regarding random subjects. Halpern started the account on August 3, 2009, soon after moving from Los Angeles back to his parents' house in San Diego. In less than a month, the page was featured on The Daily Show, a popular San Francisco blog called Laughing Squid and by Forgetting Sarah Marshall star Kristen Bell. As of 13 June 2010, the feed has over 1,406,000 followers.

In September 2009, Halpern found an agent and started sifting through book deals.[3] He signed an agreement with Harper Collins in October 2009. The book based on the feed, Sh*t My Dad Says, was released on May 4, 2010. During its first week, the book reached #8 on the New York Times Best Seller list for hardcover nonfiction.

In November 2009, CBS announced that they were developing a television sitcom based on the twitter feed, which would star William Shatner. The series, officially titled $#*! My Dad Says, was green-lit by CBS in May 2010 and will air on CBS during the 2010-11 season.

So I am mildly obsessed with Edgar Mueller... For those that don't know he is a 3D street artist and I have been following him for YEARS! I was very surprised when I realized that I had never posted about him... Anywho, here is some of his amazing pieces of his artwork

Watch him work...

Lupe Fiasco is starting up the All City Chess Club... A collective of artists that probably weren't labeled the "popular kids" in High School... It involves himself, Asher Roth, B.o.B, The Cool Kids, Charles Hamilton, Blu, Wale, Diggy, J. Cole, and Pharrell.... I'm down... I'm a fan on some kind of level of all the artists with the exception of Charles Hamilton... I'm hoping that this "movement" actually goes somewhere, because Lord knows I'm still waiting on something new to be released from CRS... it's been like three years! :(

My best friend always teases me because I don't like candy... It's like one of the quintessential child-like loves that I just never really got into... Well, loving cartoons is definitely something that I have not grown out of...

COWBOY BEBOP! This show was so awesome and the soundtrack is so prolific.. Hmmm... I suppose I can name one out of the several things that made this show amazing... I thought it was cool that most of the episode titles are named after some sweet songs... I suggest you check it out on DVD ASAP... But you can't borrow mine! :-p

FRISKY DINGO! This show was all about superhero/action movie cliche's... I'm so sad it was so short-lived. It made me cry gansta tears of laughter on the regular... Adult Swim puhleaseeeee bring back Killface and his ridiculousness

Just thought I'd educate you on these shows spectacularness... I will try and do this on the regular maybe make a segment about wonderific things that came to an end... STAY TUNED! :-p

If you ask me I'm ready... (c) Alicia Keys

SEASON 3 of The Boondocks debuted last night and twitter was POPPIN! I had to watch it twice because I was so busy tweeting that I missed the satirical subtleties that makes The Boondocks so prolific... I was more than pleased with the season debut and I can't wait for more... I'm like a FIEND! What makes The Boondocks so ingenious is that even the people that the show pokes fun of are fans of it... I hope that it forces some of those people to look at themselves critically... That would be pretty sweet! Lol.

I have nothing to do with counting the votes. (c) Kenneth Blackwell

Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. (c) Berthold Auerbach

For those that aren't familiar with this event... The B.O.M.B (Bring Our Music Back) Fest is kind of a big deal... Frank Bombaci’s (the creator of B.O.M.B.) dream was to create an event where music lovers of all types could come together and appreciate the raw and original bits of music that are slowly seeping away from the mainstream music industry. The concert will showcase a variety of music genres, including Folk, Classical, Rock, and Country, and include the likes of bands such as Lupe Fiasco, Brand New, Jay Electronica, Ra Ra Riot, The Cool Kids, and Roots of Creation.

Bombaci is hosting the event on May 30th, from 12 p.m. to 10pm, at Durham Fairgrounds in Durham, Connecticut. Tickets are $25 and all proceeds will benefit two nationally known nonprofits, including SoundMusic CT, an organization dedicated to bringing summer music back to Harkness Park, and Make-a-Wish Foundation. I wish I could be there sooooooo bad! :(
